tRev. Reginald “Reggee” Boney is a dynamic servant-leader, preacher, educator, and artist whose vocation integrates theology, social justice, and law. A proud native of Durham, North Carolina, Rev. Boney holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Theological Studies from Duke University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Theology from Hampton University.
With nearly thirty years of music ministry and over fifteen years of preaching, Rev. Boney brings passion and vision to every aspect of his work. He previously served as Youth & Young Adult Pastor at Victory at Calvary Covenant Ministries and, as an ordained minister in the Mount Calvary Holy Churches of America, Inc., he currently serves as International Worship Director for the denomination. His musical talents have placed him alongside artists across diverse genres, and in 2023, he released his debut single, “Refuel the Fire,” on major digital platforms.
Professionally, Rev. Boney has served the State of North Carolina in a variety of leadership roles, including as Legal Consultant for the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and Strategic Policy Analyst for the Governor’s Task Force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice. He presently serves as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the District of Columbia Department of Human Services, drawing on his expertise in conflict resolution, policy, and equity.
Engaged deeply in the community, Rev. Boney is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He serves on the boards of the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People and the National Alumni Council of Duke Divinity School, and is a committed member of the NAACP. Above all, Rev. Boney values family. He is joyfully married to his college sweetheart, Latia White Boney, and together they are blessed with three children: Laila MacKenzie, Schyler Jaxon, and Summer Rae.
Rev. Boney’s ministry and leadership are grounded in a conviction that “justice is holy.” He is dedicated to building transformative communities where faith, justice, and the arts intersect, uplifting voices and advancing advocacy in service to a world where every person’s dignity is honored and protected.
